Dive into this Cruise to Cozumel and Belize City

scuba_diving_horse.jpgIf the thought of strapping an oxygen tank on to your back and diving deep into the ocean until your ears feel like they are going to explode in the name of seeing all of the creatures that live below the sea sounds like a good one to you, then you’ll love this 5-night cruise aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Pearl.

The main attractions of this round-trip cruise from Miami are Cozumel, Mexico and Belize City, Belize. Cozumel is world renowned for its scuba diving. Surrounded by more than 25 reef formations, including the second largest coral reef in the world, the island is a paradise for those who like to do their exploring under the sea. If you don’t get your fill of diving in Cozumel, you’ll have opportunity to do some more in Belize, which also happens to be one of the best diving spots in the world.

If wearing fins and swimming under water is not your thing, this is still a great cruise because it allows for plenty of time to check our Mayan sites, lounge in the sun and to find a nice piece of land to rest your weary body and watch the world go by.

Like any cruise or trip, it is also a wise thing to check into travel medical insurance before you leave.

Dutch Dreams River Cruise

dutch-tulips.jpgWater has played a huge role in the Netherlands for centuries. A country that is below sea level in parts, the densely populated nation is in a perpetual battle to make land out of water and to keep water out of land. Dikes, canals and clever engineering have contributed to a unique Dutch way of life that is an absolute treasure for a visitor to experience.

Uniworld Grand River Cruises offers a 7-night Dutch Dreams cruise aboard the River Ambassador that is perfect for those who want to experience Holland from both land and sea. The voyage begins and ends in Amsterdam, a capital city worthy of being called one of the finest in the world. From there you will make your way around the country with ample opportunity to enjoy the works of the Dutch masters like Vermeer and Rembrandt, to talk in the famous windmills, gaze at the legendary tulips and to sample the Dutch cuisine.

This is a slow paced voyage that includes guided tours and lectures to help you gain a further understanding into the history and the people that make the Netherlands a must see country for every traveler.

Super Seattle Vacation Packages

seattle-rain.jpgIt rains every single day of the year in Seattle, Washington or at least that is what the people who live there would like you to believe. The facts say otherwise. Seattle does get its fair share of rainy days, but the vast majority happens in the winter months. During the summer, the skies are sunny and blue and there are few nicer cities to be than in Seattle.

One of the reasons why people in the Pacific Northwest talk to outsiders so much about the rain is that they know they have a good thing going and they don’t necessarily want it ruined. Sure they would love you to come visit as long as you go home when your vacation is finished.

Indeed, leaving is one of the toughest things to do after spending time in Seattle. The stunning views of the Sound, Mt. Rainier looming in the background, every third business a coffee shop, Pike’s Market and the laid back attitude of the people are all attractions that will make a trip to Seattle one that you’ll really enjoy.

Priceline has some good deals on vacation packages to Seattle, Washington. Go ahead and buy some rain weather travel gear before you leave just in case. Chances are you won’t need it but it will make the natives happy if you think you will need it.

Spain, France and Italy Cruise, Oh My!

nice.JPGThere is something about Europe that just feels different. The minute you step off a cross-Atlantic air trip and step foot on the continent you feel like you are in another part of the world. At the same time, Europe is also familiar. It has its lovely towns, bustling cities and historic cultures, but none of this leaves you feel like you are visiting Mars. Europe is both different and familiar.

Europe is also wonderful, especially if you can take the time to explore some of its southern areas. Celebrity Cruises has an excellent cruise of the Balearic Islands. Don’t worry, I didn’t know what this was either until I saw the itinerary. The 10-night cruise starts and ends in Spain’s marvelous city of Barcelona. From there it is off to Provence and Nice, France, two lovely seaside cities that are dripping with culture. The culture heats up with a visit to Florence and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Wouldn’t it be something if you were there when it falls down? Don’t worry, that probably isn’t going to happen unless you accidentally bump into it. Try not to be a klutz.

The rest of the journey sees you spending time in Rome, Italy, Corsica, Valencia, Spain and Gibraltar before returning to Barcelona. This is a cruise that covers a lot of territory in a hurry and it is an excellent way to discover just how unique and how similar Europe can be.

See the Pacific Northwest by Cruise

pacific-northwest-vacation.jpgWhen most people think of cruises they likely envision a trip to a location where the sun shines and warmth fills the air. The exception might be an Alaska cruise in the summer, but even that can be a sun filled affair. The odds aren’t great that you’ll see much sun during a cruise of the Pacific Northwest in late April, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful part of North America.

Celebrity Cruises offers up a 7-night Pacific Northwest cruise that begins in San Francisco and ends in Vancouver, British Columbia. Both of those cities alone are worth the trip. They are each superbly located next to the water and offer up breathtaking views that you won’t experience anywhere else.

In between, the cruise takes you to the serene Monterey, California where if you had millions of dollars you could probably afford a house in paradise. From there it is on to Astoria, Oregon, home of the movie Goonies, among other things. Spend the day exploring the rugged and awesome Oregon coast before departing for Seattle, Washington, another unique and pretty city. Finally it is off to Victoria, British Columbia where you will swear that you are in England instead of North America.

Bring your rain gear and a positive attitude. At least you won’t be bringing home a sunburn as a souvenir from your cruise vacation.
