You never have to wash a rental car

By Bob | February 26th, 2007

dirty-car-2.JPGAs someone who doesn’t own a car and who doesn’t fancy driving, I am always excited to get the keys to a rental car. Driving a rental car forces me to remember the rules of the road, it allows me to catch up on all of the horrible talk radio that I can’t listen to as I ride my bicycle and it serves as a useful place to deposit trash while on a road trip. You can’t get away with denting a rental car and you sure as heck better leave the tank on full when you return it. But unlike your car at home you don’t have to worry much about your rental car collecting so much dirt that kids in the neighborhood write “tow me” with their fingers on the car window.

That is about the only advantage of having a rental car in my opinion. Otherwise they are little more than a necessary evil while you travel. If you would rather spend money on food, shopping and travel experiences than on securing a fancy car for your trip, you might want to check out the current deals at Thifty Rental Cars. These include:

¢ Compact Cars for $37.99 per day or $189.99 per week
¢ Mid Size Cars for $41.99 per day or $209.99 per week
¢ Mini Vans for $44.99 per day and $224.99 per week

No matter what size you choose, you can have fun seeing just how dirty an automobile can get.
