The World Cruise: 46 Ports, 23 Countries, 111 Days

By Bob | December 8th, 2006

On Monday morning I am going to walk into my office and ask my boss for 111 days of vacation time in 2007. After I pick him up off the floor and he stops violently laughing, I will explain that this is the precise amount of vacation I will need so that I can complete the Regent Seven Seas World Cruise.

Folks, this one is a gem and even if you can’t get that much time off you can hop aboard for various stretches. The cruise departs Ft Lauderdale and works its way south to Rio De Janeiro. From there you cross the Atlantic until you run into Africa where the real fun exploring starts. Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique and Kenya, if there was a stretch of this cruise that I would pick above all others it would be the swing through southern Africa.

The journey continues eastward to Southeast Asia and then through the Middle East and Europe before finally coming home to the United States. Along the way, you’ll see just about every type of country and culture that you could ever imagine. Life is short and this planet of ours is very large. A World Cruise is an excellent way to see and do it all. Maybe I’ll convince my boss to come along for the journey.
