Recharge your batteries with an insanely cheap cruise

By Roger Wade | April 14th, 2008

Cruise PacificThe fine people at Carnival are almost being unfair by offering 3, 4, and 5 day cruises at prices so low that we can no longer resist: Recharge your Batteries with 3,4,5 day Carnival Cruises

These cruises are starting at $250 per person, and keep in mind that when you take a cruise you are getting your room, food, entertainment, and transportation all included in one price. You have to pay for drinks and shore excursions, but not much more than that. If you instead booked 3 nights in a hotel in, say, San Francisco, it would cost at least $150 per night for a couple, and then you’d have to shell out another $100 per day minimum for transportation, food, and entertainment.

Even if you went down to Cabo in Mexico itself the hotel would cost you $80 per night or more and then you’d still have to pay extra for everything else. How can Carnival get away with prices this low? I think they must be trying to get us hooked on cruises just like drug dealers give you the first one free. This seems a bit unfair. We are not made of stone, Carnival Cruises!
