Cheap cruise deals, without a clown in sight

By Roger Wade | February 18th, 2008

Carnival cruisingDear Wade, I see that Carnival Cruises has excellent deals, but my husband has a fear of clowns. Will he be okay? Signed, Concerned Cruiser. Dear CC, yours is a common mistake, but Carnival Cruises don’t actually have American-style carnivals aboard, at least not usually: Sensational Rates on “Fun Ship” Getaways

I get e-mails like that all the time from people who assume going on a Carnival Cruise involves riding rusty roller coasters and rickety Ferris wheels. It’s possible they started out that way, but now it’s more a carnival like the kind you see in Brazil, except with less violence and petty theft.

They currently have deals where you can recharge your batteries on 3, 4, and 5-day cruises for as low as $249. This is part of their Evolutions of Fun program, which is sure to bring about new misunderstandings based on that controversial name. Regardless of your thoughts on creationism versus evolution, don’t ignore these great offers when they come along. If you do you are liable to be bred out of the gene pool in the future. Either that, or our vengeful God will smite you from on high. The choice is yours, but do something soon, before it’s too late!
