Get your Happy Feet on an Antarctica Cruise

By Bob | December 15th, 2006

Who would have guessed that an animated movie about penguins in Antarctica would become a big hit in the United States? Apparently the people who made Happy Feet did because their movie has been on top of the movie charts for a few weeks now. If you haven’t seen it, the basic premise is that it is an animated version of March of the Penguins. I found the movie to be ridiculous, but fortunately for you this isn’t a movie review blog.

With these two hit movies coming out in a span of a couple of years, it is no wonder that more and more people are viewing Antarctica as a travel destination. Like just about everything else in this world, this is a double-edged sword. It is great that people have come to appreciate the beauty of Antarctica, but in pursuing that beauty humans may just end up spoiling the place.

This should be taken into consideration when you are thinking about taking a cruise there. There is no shortage of cruise companies that will shepherd you to Antarctica. You’ll just want to make sure you are on one that respects the fragile nature of the environment.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is an industry leader in excursion cruises. They have an 11-day Antarctica cruise that will make your feet want to dance, while it also will pay respect to the beautiful place that has become on of humanity’s last frontiers.
