Freedom of the Seas: The World’s Largest Cruise Ships

By Bob | October 12th, 2006

Cruise ships are like baseball players on steroids, they just keep getting bigger and bigger each year. The current honor for the biggest ship on the open seas is Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. The vessel, which has more than 1,800 rooms for up to 4,375 passengers, is more than 1,112ft (339m) in length – longer than 37 buses! Accomodations on the ship range from a 14-person, 1,200 square foot Presidential Suite to a 160 square foot, twin-bed interior cabin. If that weren’t enough, it also features the first and only onboard surf park for those who would rather surf on a ship than in the ocean.

The massive Freedom of the Seas is one busy beaver with voyages nearly non stop all year long.
