San Antonio, Texas – Vacation Packages

By Miss Julie | December 24th, 2006

San Antonio is really something to remember and not just because of the Alamo, although it is the most visited attraction in Texas. And with good reason – the dusty old buildings once housed the men who established the Independent Republic of Texas. San Antiono still retains its unique character. While other cities seem to grow more alike, San Antonio maintains its quaint charm and festive atmosphere. It’s a gracious, historic and romantic city that combines a bit of Old South with a bit of Wild West with a number of old sites to tour, including historic Catholic missions. Music leaps, colors dance, and your head spins with the spirit of it all. The food is a collision of cultures. Luscious Tex-Mex, chic Southwestern Nouvelle and of course, Texas BBQ.

The Riverwalk abounds with music and tantalizing aromas from the sidewalk cafés and dinner boats. If you visit during the holidays, take in the dazzling display of lights that drip from every tree, rail and restaurant. Little shops urge you to browse as brightly colored blue taxis cruise by. Pry yourself away from the Riverwalk and discover some of the other local flavor…but it won’t be easy!
