Memphis, Tennessee – Vacation Packages

By Miss Julie | December 24th, 2006

Home of the blues, world famous BBQ restaurants and lifelong claim to Elvis Presley, Memphis holds many exciting delights for visitors. After you take a paddlewheel cruise on the Mighty Mississippi River, explore the haunts of blues great B.B. King on Beale Street. Then rev up your car to visit Graceland, home of Elvis Presley. Although your Graceland visit could take hours, you’ll want to hurry back downtown to experience a BBQ meal at one of the many restaurants in Memphis. Go to the banks of the Mississippi and listen to sunset symphonies during the Memphis in May Festival, which brings people from around the world to compete in the International BBQ Competition.

Memphis is also home to much history, from the Civil War era to the tragic assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lorraine Motel, now home to the National Civil Rights Museum. Here you can also find the Peabody – the “queen of Southern hotels” and Mud Island, the final port for the Memphis Belle. Run, don’t walk, to the Memphis.
