By Miss Julie | December 24th, 2006

Often called “the most Mexican city in Mexico”, Guadalajara embraces her cultural heritage through being the mariachi center of Mexico and the world. Every year she showcases mariachi and the other Arts through the Festivales de Octubre and the Mariachi Festival every fall. Guadalajara is also the largest distributor of crafts in the country, and one of the largest in the world. These arts, crafts and culture draws are best showcased in Guadalajara Plaza and the San Juan de Dios Market.

As the second largest city in the country, Guadalajara always has something going on. Near the heart of tequila country, you can take a tequila-tour, complete with mariachis and plenty of food. Check out the nearby natural hot springs for some relaxation or tour the historial center of town. On the weekends, you can take in a bull-flight, attend a rodeo or be cultural and watch a folkloric ballet. There’s also plenty of museums and other attractions that await in this Mexican city.
