Grand Canyon, Arizona – Vacation Packages

By Miss Julie | December 24th, 2006

The breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, is like nothing else you will ever experience. Within its vast expanse and awesome depth, there is an ever changing panorama or color, from the first light of day until the sun sets on the distant horizon, concluding the melodrama until another day. Created over a millennia through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau, it is located entirely in northern Arizona.

The Grand Canyon National Park encompasses 277 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. One of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world, Grand Canyon is unmatched in the incomparable vistas it offers to visitors on the rim. You can expreience it by hiking it, camping in it, or mule-back riding the trails. Views from the North Rim allow you to look up, down and across the great schism, making it a popular place for romantic sunsets. The South Rim offers panoramic views encompassing the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch. At night, make sure to tilt your head back to view the stars so bright it seems as if you could touch them.

Visitors to the Grand Canyon generally fly into Phoenix (approx. 250 miles), Las Vegas (approx. 275 miles) or Flagstaff (approx. 90 miles) and drive to the wonderous site.
